The report presents the main results of the research activity carried out, between November 2013 and June 2014, in the framework of the “She Culture” project.

It is structured in four main sections:

  • Section A analyzes cultural policies which specifically address women and which aim at promoting their access to and participation in culture be it as artists, as amateurs, or as public. Starting from the approach by international organizations, the report further develops in detail the situation in the countries participating in the project: Albania, Denmark, Italy, Norway and Spain.
  • Section B presents a set of stories. Stories of special women of the past, interviews with special women of today.
  • Section C presents the first worldwide research on Women’s museums and offers the results of a census survey carried out in early 2014.
  • Section D illustrates the ongoing debate in the Internet on toys’ genderization.

The report constitutes a working document for the “She Culture” project partners in the five participant countries (Albania, Denmark, Italy, Norway and Spain). It has been carried out on an independent basis by the different project partners and their permanent staff with the collaboration, whenever necessary, of external expertise.
